En julio de 1873 se dieron lugar unos hechos muy sangrientos y violentos. Al alcalde de aquel momento, Agustin Albors Blanes, fue atado a un carro y arrastrado por toda la ciudad hasta que se le arranc\u00f3 la piel a tiras y muri\u00f3.
