{"id":67,"date":"2019-08-28T16:38:37","date_gmt":"2019-08-28T14:38:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ua.es\/messinianalicante\/?p=67"},"modified":"2019-08-28T16:40:53","modified_gmt":"2019-08-28T14:40:53","slug":"tethyan-to-mediterranean-evolution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ua.es\/messinianalicante\/2019\/08\/28\/tethyan-to-mediterranean-evolution\/","title":{"rendered":"Tethyan to Mediterranean Evolution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Message from the Guest Editor<\/p>\n<p>Dear Colleagues,<\/p>\n<p>Several geological modeling studies on the geodynamic\u00a0and paleogeographic Alpine (Eo-Alpine during the\u00a0Cretaceous\u2013Paleogene; Neo-Alpine during the Oligocene\u2013\u00a0Miocene) evolution of the Mediterranean have been\u00a0published without consensus in the last four decades.\u00a0Therefore, a Special Issue dedicated to \u201cTethayan to\u00a0Mediterranean evolution\u201d seems justified. Studies that\u00a0consider the geodynamic and\/or paleogeographic\u00a0evolution of the entire Mediterranean area or a part of this\u00a0area will be welcome. The proposal can be focused on\u00a0stratigraphic, sedimentological, petrographic, or tectonic\u00a0data, or geophysical interpretations and reconstructions\u00a0based on principles of Plate Tectonics using GPlates or\u00a0similar software. The papers that are published in this\u00a0Special Issue can contribute to clarifying and updating the\u00a0state of our knowledge about this controversial theme.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-121\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ua.es\/westerntethys\/files\/2019\/08\/SI-Banner.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"622\" height=\"356\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Message from the Editorial Board<\/p>\n<p>T h e Journal of Marine Science and Engineering (JMSE;\u00a0ISSN 2077-1312) is an international peer-reviewed open\u00a0access journal which provides an advanced forum for\u00a0studies related to marine science and engineering.
