Abstract<\/p>\n

This study comprises the monitoring of a 10 m3\/day capacity immersed Kubota flat sheet membrane bioreactor situated in the sewage plant of Rinc\u00f3n de Le\u00f3n, Alicante, Spain. This plant has been working continuously during an entire year. Both the physical-chemical parameters like BOD, COD, MLSS, nitrogen, phosphates and the microbiological parameters like E. Coli, Total Coliforms and Enterococus have been monitored. Experiments at different flows were carried out. The installation of Wattmeters enabled the high accuracy measurement of the power consumption of each equipment of the plant. This data led to an operation cost analysis which evolved into an econometric model that relates economical and physical-chemical data. Both, the obtained results and the solution given to problems that arose during operation are thoroughly discussed. <\/sup><\/font><\/p>\n
