A kind of divergent practice and insurrect on the more or less routine tasks that occupy us daily. If we want, an office of resistance or an attempt to survive a thought and a creative practice derived from the existence of an atelier and free from a sacred idleness.

Thus, I have been collecting, in recent years, “sudden encounters” that are materialized in photographs meticulously stored in a digital file on my iphone.

All images seem to be about similar subjects: interim instants, involuntary situations, traces of actions, highly precise gadgets, transient constructions, temporary rebellious gestures, or ironic journeys.

They are, therefore, sick of something common and perhaps this is why I am fascinated:

the tension generated by the misfortune or instability.

5th+8th MARCH

ELEMENTS OF ARCHITECTURE

SWAIP /Social inclusion and Well-being through the Arts and Interdisciplinary Practices

Alicante School of Architecture +

International Collaborators: Iceland University of the Arts, University of Porto, University of Hertfordshire, Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, and Association Européenne des Conservatoires (AEC), Académies de Musique et Musikhochschule.

Collaborators in Murcia: Hospital Dementia Unit + Museum of Arts

The Venice Biennale celebrated in 2014 was titled Elements of Architecture.

Directed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, it looked under a microscope at the fundamentals of our buildings, used anywhere, anytime: the floor, the wall, the ceiling, the roof, the door, the window, the façade, the balcony, the corridor, the fireplace, the toilet, the stair, the escalator, the elevator, the ramp. The exhibition was a selection of the most revealing, surprising, and unknown moments, Elements of Architecture, that reconstructs the global history of each element. It brought together ancient, past and current versions of the elements in rooms that are each dedicated to a single element.

Our aim now, at Alicante’s Workshop, is to update Elements of Architecture by adding some pages to the collection. We do believe that, for example, a contemporary door is not only useful to close spaces but also to collect memories… Guided by experts, we will spend a week working in organized multidisciplinary groups proposing the new conditions that our elements should acquire, and designing them.

7th MAY

LESSONS FROM AFRICA

Lecture by Albert Faus, his engaged architecture in Burkina Faso.

The weeks before we will work on projects to be done with clay, and organized a competition with them, selecting a winner with Albert (first prize 300€).

INVOLUNTARY ARCHITECTURES A series of exercises that stars with intensive workshops and their results to be developed afterwards. 5th-8th FEB MOST OF THE PEOPLE HAVE AT LEAST ONE BUSY HAND Workshop directed by Samuel Silva, artist and professor of Fine Arts at University of Porto. Working at work is born of a split: […]

["post-6679","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
