After returning to the UK in 1967 he spent eight years at the University of Surrey as Deputy Head (Research) and Professor of Tourism in the School of Management. He then moved to Scotland and took a pastime position as Professor of International Tourism at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, and is currently Emeritus Professor in the Strathclyde Business School. He has published many journal articles, fourteen books on tourism and many chapters in other books. His research interests include the development of tourist destinations, the impacts of tourism, carrying capacity and sustainability, and tourism in remote areas and islands. He is a past president of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism and the Canadian Association of Leisure Studies. He has just edited books on Giants of Tourism, dealing with the role of individuals in changing the face of tourism, and Tourism and Political Change, and is beginning work on a book exploring the links between tourism and war and peace.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ua.es\/renovestur\/files\/2011\/09\/DSC_0374.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-254\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ua.es\/renovestur\/files\/2011\/09\/DSC_0374-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Josep Ivars i Baidal, Doctor en Geograf\u00eda y M\u00e1ster en Turismo<\/h3>\n<p>Profesor titular de la Universidad de Alicante. Ha compaginado la docencia universitaria con la investigaci\u00f3n en materia tur\u00edstica y el desempe\u00f1o de diferentes cargos en organismos p\u00fablicos. Fue director de la Fundaci\u00f3n Cavanilles de Altos Estudios Tur\u00edsticos y Jefe del Servicio de Estudios y Planificaci\u00f3n de la Agencia Valenciana del Turismo.<\/p>\n<p>Ha desarrollado labores de consultor\u00eda para la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de Turismo en pa\u00edses latinoamericanos.<\/p>\n<p>Cuenta con diversas publicaciones, tanto en libros como en revistas cient\u00edficas, nacionales e internacionales, como Annals of Tourism Research o Tourism Management.<\/p>\n<p>Actualmente, es director del instituto Valenciano de Tecnolog\u00edas Tur\u00edsticas (INVAT.TUR), dependiente de la Generalitat Valenciana.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ua.es\/renovestur\/files\/2011\/09\/KikeNavarro_Croacia2009_2_CampusVirtual.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ua.es\/renovestur\/files\/2011\/09\/KikeNavarro_Croacia2009_2_CampusVirtual-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Enrique Navarro Jurado, Profesor Titular de la Facultad de Turismo de la Universidad de M\u00e1laga<\/h3>\n<p>Doctor en Geograf\u00eda y docente en la Facultad de Turismo de la Universidad de M\u00e1laga. He is also an Innovation Fellow at the Advanced Institute of Management (London) and Director of Research in the Department of Management. He has published numerous books on tourism and has worked as a consultant for UNESCO, The National Trust and many other organisations. He is currently researching aspects of innovation and knowledge transfer in the tourism industry.
