{"id":251,"date":"2018-02-23T11:56:07","date_gmt":"2018-02-23T10:56:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ua.es\/xragua\/?page_id=251"},"modified":"2022-02-07T14:43:39","modified_gmt":"2022-02-07T13:43:39","slug":"observatory","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ua.es\/xragua\/infrastructure\/observatory\/","title":{"rendered":"The Busot Observatory"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify\">Thanks to the <span style=\"color: #333399\"><strong>agreement of collaboration<\/strong><\/span> between the <strong><span style=\"color: #333399\">X-ray Astronomy Group<\/span><\/strong> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ua.es\/en\/index.html\"><span style=\"color: #993300\"><strong>University of Alicante<\/strong><\/span><\/a> (<span style=\"color: #333399\"><strong>XRAGUA<\/strong><\/span>) and <strong><span style=\"color: #333399\">Obras e infraestructuras del Mediterr\u00e1neo<\/span><\/strong> (<strong>Obrimed<\/strong>), the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.obrimed.es\/j02\/observatorio.html\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800080\">Busot Observatory<\/span><\/strong><\/a> is routinely observing scientific targets in an almost autonomous way. This i<a href=\"http:\/\/www.obrimed.es\/j02\/meteo\/BUSOT.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-257 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ua.es\/xragua\/files\/2015\/12\/20150910_193700-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"20150910_193700\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ua.es\/xragua\/files\/2015\/12\/20150910_193700-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ua.es\/xragua\/files\/2015\/12\/20150910_193700-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.ua.es\/xragua\/files\/2015\/12\/20150910_193700-500x281.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>mply that both telescope and dome are computer controlled and all indispensable actions of observation can be done automatically, including processing weather conditions, dome driving, selecting targets to observe, exposing by cameras and filter wheel, taking calibration images and so forth. The only human activities we need to do are just to keep and maintenance the observatory.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">It is located at the Urbanizaci\u00f3n Llano de los Pastores, latitude 38\u00ba 28&#8242; 31&#8221; North, longitude 0\u00ba 26&#8242; 42&#8221; West, 185 m above sea level (<strong>Busot, Alicante, Spain<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Top image: a front view of the dome.
