Lecturer

José Miguel Torrejón Vázquez is Senior Lecturer of Physics at the University of Alicante School of Engineering. He teaches Fundamentals of Physics for Robotics Engineers at the Polytechnic School of the University of Alicante, as well as Astronomy and Astrophysics. He also teaches Physics in the High Academic Performace Group (a.k.a. “ARA” group which stands for “Alto Rendimiento Académico”) established by the Generalitat Valenciana in Computer Engineering which pioneered the implantation of these groups at the UA during the year 2010/2011 and now, a number of other degrees have joined us in this project.

He earned his PhD. doctorate in Physics at the University of Valencia, in 1997, and was Research Scientist at MIT Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research during the 2007-2008.

Dr. Torrejón is currently leading the X-ray Astronomy research group at the University of Alicante involved in the design and construction of the next generation X-ray space telescope ATHENA.
