Espectacular quedada realizada el fin de semana del 5 al 7 de Julio en Sierra Nevada.
Quedamos en Granada 55 amantes de la montaña para convivir durante tres días e intentar realizar la integral de Sierra Nevada, 12 picos de más de 3000 metros. En principio, la ruta serían unos 103 Km con un desnivel positivo de 7700 metros. Más adelante veréis que no pudo ser debido al estado de los caminos.
1ª etapa. Güejar Sierra – Refugio Postero Alto. (36 Km – D+2500)
Esta era la etapa más sencilla, ya que sólo coronamos un pico de 3000 metros. Empezamos temprano en Güejar Sierra. Sobre las 08:00 de la mañana comenzamos a caminar. Los primeros pasos fueron por un pequeño desfiladero, el cual se fue abriendo poco a poco mostrándonos sobre el horizonte las nevadas cumbres de Sierra Nevada. A medio camino, en el refugio de Peña Partida hicimos una parada para comer y reagrupar a la gente. Más adelante, en el valle de los Lavaderos de la Reina, rellenamos los bidones con agua, ya que hasta el Alhorí no tendriamos más fuentes por el camino. Después de más de seis horas y 24 km alcanzamos el Picón de Jerez. Ya sólo nos quedaba una pronunciada bajada hasta el refugio de Postero Alto dónde hicimos noche y repusimos energía para el duro día que nos venía.
2ª etapa. Refugio Postero Alto – Refugio Poqueira. (28 Km – D+3800)
Esta jornada fue, sin duda, la más dura. Teníamos que superar varios picos de más de tres mil metros y desde el kilómetro 5.5 hasta el 25, estaríamos siempre por encima de 3000 mts, excepto 4 km que bajamos a dos valles.
La etapa fue preciosa, volvimos a subir el barranco del Alhorí hacia la cuerda de los tres miles. Tranquilamente fui subiendo, sin perder muchas fuerzas. Una vez arriba las vistas desde las cumbres eran sobrecogedoras. Desde el Cervatillo fuimos enlazando cumbres y allí me sentía muy bien y con buen ritmo conseguí alcanzar al grupo del medio. Esta ruta discurre va pasando por: Puntal de Juntillas, Collado de las Buitreras, Pico del Cuervo, Puntal de Vacares, Alcazaba, Siete Lagunas, Mulhacén, y Refugio del Poqueira.
En la loma del Goterón disfrutamos de un descanso y la comida junto a los riachuelos. Cuando llegamos a Siete Lagunas estaba precioso y con acampados.
Las caras de la gente en el refugio eran de alegría y cansancio. Hubo algunas personas que tuvieron que renunciar a subir algunas cumbres por cansancio y evitar que se les hiciera de noche.
3ª etapa. Refugio Poqueira – Capileira. (20Km – D+1000).
Al salir del refugio había dudas acerca de si el grupo iba a poder pasar el Paso de los Machos para acceder al Veleta y de aquí continuar hacia el Cartujo, para llegar al Caballo y finalizar en Durcal.
Iniciamos la marcha realizando un desvío hacia la izquierda desde el rio Mulhacén. Fuímos por la laderas siguiendo una senda que se perdía a tramos y llegamos a los Crespones de Rio Seco. Desde allí, alcanzamos la pista, que en ocasiones, se tapaba completamente por los neveros. Con los Yaktrak se podía andar por ellos sin problema, pero nuestros mayores temores se cumplieron cuando llegamos al Paso de Los Machos. Había un paso bastante peliagudo por lo que la organización decidió darse la vuelta. Fue una pena dejar el Veleta a menos de 300 mts. A partir de este punto, tuvimos una larga bajada, que se hicimos en su mayor parte corriendo, hasta el pueblo de Capileira, donde tomaríamos el autobús que nos llevaría a Granada.
