Abstract.
The emergence of new AI-based technologies will bring about a major change in many sectors and industries. The education sector will be one of them, as the new tools offer the possibility of personalizing learning for the student body, automating routine teacher tasks and empowering adaptive assessments, among other advantages. However, although the op-portunities offered by AI are promising, there are certain associated risks such as the acceleration of misinformation, the loss of interpersonal skills or the violation of data privacy. In this paper we explore the possibilities offered by ChatGPT by means of several experiments involving the first-year students of the higher cycle of Multiplatform Application Develop-ment and the teachers who are being trained in the master’s degree in Sec-ondary Education and Vocational Training using the ChatGPT tool. The re-sults show the possibilities that ChatGPT has in terms of academic writing and the ability to perform different types of evaluative activities. This forc-es teachers to rethink the evaluation mechanisms and teaching-learning strategies.
